I’m sitting at my desk thinking about Nelson Mandela’s legacy. Yesterday was his memorial service and it is clear that he personified what it means to put others first and the good of the nation. In South Africa, we call this, Ubuntu.
Putting others first is not a new concept. Jesus taught his disciples that the greatest people are the ones who serve others (Mark 10:42-45). Mandela is a reminder of what true greatness is.
May we all strive for this Christ-like quality.
